Your first step is to figure out if you’re going to fly or drive.

Map & Guide – South Rim Grand Canyon

  • Foldout map shows Grand Canyon’s best trails!
  • Includes an overview of the Canyon’s history, geology, trails, flora & fauna and more.
  • Valuable Visitor Service information & phone numbers are included.
  • “What to Do” suggestions are provided; including ideas for visitors with limited time.

This Grand Canyon map (not topographic – day hikers only) provides a fine overview of the canyon from Santa Maria Spring (in the west) to Grandview Point (in the east) – the area visited by the overwhelming majority of Grand Canyon visitors. It includes a map of the roads in and around Grand Canyon Village, the location of stores, hotels, campgrounds, laundry and showers, parking lot locations and shuttle routes.

It is 4 x 10.5 inches folded. Completely unfolded it is 4 x 36 inches.

  1. Well, we don’t know where you live, so we don’t know if you have to fly or drive ther. If you have to fly, start with buying a round-trip plane ticket. Then pack accordingly. Next, book a hotel. Find out how you’re going to get from one place to another, meaning, do you want to rent a car, are you going to take the bus, etc. Make a list of all the places you want to see, and figure out what times they’re open, and check the distances between places so you can manage your time wisely. Then just go from there! Have a wonderful and safe trip and take loooots of pictures!

  2. I did a week down there and it was great. If you fly, you will go into Harlingen, Texas and you can shuttle in by Hotel Van or rent a car. It’s a great beach and most of the hotels are right on the beach
