The place has only 18 units and the resort has only a total of three quite small buildings.

With ten foot ceilings, beautiful mahogany doors and panelling, equipped with everything you could need and want including wireless internet and satellite TV. In short they are spacious, very elegant in an understated way, and quite superb views of the turquoise sea and the Great Belize Barrier Reef.
Another feature is the level of service, and the staff will know you by name almost immediately, and go a long way to make sure you have everything you need for your tropical island vacation.
The girls in Guest services excel in this respect, and with an inquisitive family who want to go fishing, visit the reef, go into the jungle and generally make the most of their vacation, their help is invaluable.
For kids of all ages you have fishing off the pier, and not just any fishing, because you can expect to catch snapper and even barracuda with simple bait like peas!!
The free form infinity edge pool will satisfy even the most critical child, and the reef is no distance away for a bit of snorkelling after a paddle in a kayak. For the grown up members of the family there is a bar here, tables and chairs, and nearer the water’s edge sunbeds and hammocks.
By the way the water at the reef is incredibly clear, so you will see a huge number of fish moray eel, turtle, and even nurse sharks. It’s terrific to just be able to take a Kayak and paddle a short distance to see all of this, without having to take a charter boat and then be surrounded by lots of other people in the water.
Another popular favourite is the water taxi into town, not only do the children love it, but the whole family too!!
The Blue Reef Island Resort is quite remote so you will be able to walk on the beach for miles and find it quite deserted. This on the one hand is nice, but on the other means eating out is more of a challenge. Thankfully the food at the Blue Reef Island Resort is extremely good, and important detail when you are doing some family vacation planning!! In fact the combination of the restaurant, the well equipped kitchen in the condo, and the poolside gas BBQ means you can have the perfect family vacation without leaving the resort. Water taxis, free to guests allow you to go to San Pedro if you do want to eat out.
All in all the Blue Reef Island Resort should feature in your family vacation planning for Ambergris Caye in Belize. It can give you the perfect family vacation in an all suite hotel, especially if you enjoy the peace and tranquillity of its location.
